Today felt like a proper milestone in my recovery journey—I returned to the office for the first time since my hernia surgery.
Walking into the office after a week felt surprisingly good. There was a sense of normalcy returning, and I was genuinely happy to be back with the team. The energy in the office, the familiar faces, and the rhythm of work—all of it felt welcoming and energizing.
What surprised me most is how comfortable and confident I feel after the surgery. I was initially uncertain about how my body would respond to being back at work, but thanks to the minimally invasive nature of laparoscopic robotic surgery, the recovery period has been remarkably smooth. The smaller incisions mean less trauma to the body, which translated into a much faster healing process compared to traditional open surgery.
I am able to move around freely, sit at my desk without discomfort, and engage fully with my work and team. The confidence comes not just from physical recovery, but from knowing that the surgical technique used meant the burden on my body was kept to a minimum.
It is wonderful to feel this sense of progress—from surgery to walking regularly, to finishing a thoughtful book, and now back at work with the people I work with every day. Each day brings me closer to a complete return to normalcy, and I am grateful for the pace and quality of this recovery.
Here’s to getting back into the rhythm of things, one day at a time.
