Today was my hernia surgery.
I underwent a laparoscopic robotic hernia surgery by Dr. Anshuman Kaushal at CK Birla Hospital.
Going into the day, I felt a mix of relief and uncertainty. Relief because the waiting was finally over, and uncertainty because any surgery, even a planned one, carries its own weight.
The procedure lasted around 2.5 hours. Knowing that part is done feels like crossing a major checkpoint, but this is only one phase of the journey.
This was also my first experience with general anaesthesia, and it definitely felt very weird. It is difficult to describe properly, but it leaves you with a strange sense of time and awareness.
Now the focus is recovery, which is long enough and will need patience, discipline, and consistency. Progress may be slow day-to-day, but the larger goal is to heal well and come back stronger.
I feel grateful for modern science, medical technology, and doctors who make procedures like this possible. I hope this surgery proves successful in the long term.
