A light-rain day trip to Kobe, with a cable car, waterfront, and a city that felt magical.
We took a day trip to Kobe.
The day included a cable car, the Kobe waterfront, and plenty of walking and exploring around the city. There was light rain, which somehow made the experience better. Kobe felt magical in the rain.
I came away thinking that Kobe is a must-visit. It had a different feeling from Osaka, and I enjoyed discovering the city without needing to fit it into a long checklist.
I also found the people particularly nice. Small interactions can shape how a city stays in your memory, and Kobe left me with a very warm impression.
It was one of those day trips that makes you glad you made the effort to leave the main base for a while.
