(DAY 1122) Doubling My Walking Distance: A Key Part of Recovery

Today marked an important milestone in my physical recovery—I doubled my walking distance.

Over the past few days, I have been gradually increasing my daily walks. Today, I managed to walk 5 km in the park, which is a significant jump from the 2.5 km I was doing before. It felt good to push just a bit further while still being mindful of my body’s signals.

What I have noticed is that regular walking has become crucial for managing the side effects of my hernia recovery. The bloating that I was experiencing has improved noticeably, and my appetite has stabilized. Walking seems to help my digestive system function better, which indirectly supports the overall healing process.

Beyond the physical benefits, there is something therapeutic about walking in the park—the fresh air, the movement, and the gradual regaining of normalcy all contribute to a positive mindset during recovery. It reminds me that healing is not just about resting; it is also about gradually reclaiming your strength and routine.

The key is balance—pushing forward with gradual progression, but not overdoing it. Listening to my body and increasing incrementally seems to be the right approach. I am grateful that I can now move about more freely, and I am looking forward to continuing this upward trajectory in my recovery.
