ChatGPT and Claude are changing how I research destinations and turn information into travel plans.
Travel research used to mean repeatedly searching Google and watching YouTube videos until a trip slowly began to take shape.
That workflow still works, but LLMs have changed the experience for me. ChatGPT and Claude are great levellers. They dramatically speed up the research and make it easier to move from a vague idea to an actual day-by-day plan in a spreadsheet.
The useful part is not only getting an answer. It is being able to keep asking follow-up questions, change constraints, compare options, and ask for the information in a structure I can use. Research and planning become part of the same conversation.
I can still use Google, blogs, videos, and official websites to verify things. But the LLM helps me organize the mess. It can turn many open tabs and half-formed thoughts into a first version of an itinerary that can then be improved.
This feels like a significant change in how people will plan travel. The old process was mainly about finding information. The new process is increasingly about having information interpreted, compared, and converted into a plan.
Travel research is going to look quite different because of these tools.
