Founder Note

(DAY 1171) Giving Someone Another Shot

Quick Context

In one line

Most decisions on team fit are a no unless they become a clear yes, but today I chose to give one intern a little more runway.

Founder Note Topic: Entrepreneurship

Read This As A Thread

This post is part of the founder writing around Edzy, product decisions, hiring, incentives, and the slower realities of building a company.

Giving an opportunity to a team member is often less straightforward than it sounds. Most of the time, my default is no unless it is a resounding yes.

Today, though, I asked one of my intern colleagues to ramp harder and gave it another two months under an up-or-out model. Either it converts into a full-time role, or it becomes time to look for other opportunities.

These decisions are never just about generosity or strictness. They are about whether there is still a credible path to growth. In this case, I felt there was enough signal to justify giving that path a little more time.
