Daily Note

(DAY 1300) Cathay Pacific and the Journey Home

Quick Context

In one line

Cathay Pacific, an unexpected upgrade, and Hong Kong Airport shaped the final day of our journey home.

Daily Note

The journey home was on Cathay Pacific, and it was very good. Based on my own airline experiences, I would probably put it second only to Emirates.

We were upgraded, which was a very nice way to end the trip. After all the movement of the previous days, it made the return journey feel especially comfortable.

The main downside was slow baggage delivery after arriving at Delhi Airport. That was frustrating at the end of an otherwise excellent trip.

Hong Kong Airport also left a strong impression on me. In several respects, it felt significantly better than Delhi Airport. That comparison is based entirely on my own experience, but it gave me a sense that there is plenty of inspiration for how airports in India can continue improving.

The trip ended with a good flight, an unexpected upgrade, and a reminder that the airport is also part of the travel experience.
