(DAY 1126) The Harsh Delhi Sun: When Summer Restricts Your Movement

The sun in Delhi is already unforgiving, and we are just at the start of summer. Soon, even walking outside during the day will feel like a choice between heat and health.

March in Delhi NCR brings a shift. The morning feels pleasant, almost misleading. But by mid-morning, the sun has already turned aggressive. By afternoon, it is relentless.

We are still days away from peak summer, yet stepping outside feels like stepping into an oven. The heat does not just warm you—it exhausts you. It slows you down. It changes how you move through the day.

In a few weeks, this will intensify. The peak summer months will restrict movement. People will retreat indoors during the hottest hours. The streets that buzz with life in winter will feel empty. Outdoor routines will shift. Meetings will move earlier. Exercise will happen at dawn or dusk, not in daylight.

It is a dance we all know in Delhi. The city changes its rhythm with the heat.

There is something humbling about it—being reminded that despite all our plans and schedules, the weather defines what is possible. The sun does not negotiate.

So we adapt. We drink more water. We plan around the heat. We learn to do what matters in the cooler hours and rest when the sun is at its worst.

Summer is coming. The harsh Delhi sun is already here. And soon, it will reshape how we live, move, and spend our days, one degree at a time.
