Founder Note

(DAY 1108) Be Nice to Employees

Quick Context

In one line

A reminder that being nice to employees is not weakness; it is leadership, especially when building a bootstrapped company and growing people consistently.

Founder Note Topic: Entrepreneurship

Read This As A Thread

This post is part of the founder writing around Edzy, product decisions, hiring, incentives, and the slower realities of building a company.

Being nice to employees is not optional. It is leadership.

People remember how they are treated more than what was said in a meeting. Respect, patience, and fairness create trust, and trust is what makes teams do great work even on hard days.

As a bootstrapped founder, I know resources are limited. But being limited on budget is not a reason to be limited on empathy.

My goal is simple: support team members properly and offer consistent growth in their skills, roles, and output. Growth should not be random or occasional. It should be intentional, regular, and visible.

When employees feel respected and supported, they do not just complete tasks. They take ownership, think long term, and help build the culture that keeps the company strong.

Be nice. Be clear. Invest in your people. That is how sustainable teams are built.
