Daily Note

(DAY 84) Health insurance and associated checkups

Quick Context

Health insurance...

Daily Note

Health insurance

Health insurance can help cover the cost of hospitalization, treatment, and diagnostic tests. Regular checks such as HbA1c, blood pressure, and cholesterol can also provide health information.

Absence of health insurance

Without insurance, medical bills can put pressure on savings and lead some people to delay or forgo treatment.

Annual health checkups

Insurance companies sometimes include annual health checkups. These can help assess a person’s health and identify possible risk factors.

My insurer, Aditya Birla, arranged my annual tests through Visit Health Private Limited. They appear to work with insurers and companies in a way similar to ConnectedH. I mentioned ConnectedH in Conversation with a startup founder. Visit shared the report through a link and contacted me by email. It was a neat solution.

Health tests

Tests such as HbA1c and cholesterol can help assess diabetes risk and cardiovascular health. My own checkup showed slightly elevated cholesterol, blood pressure, and random blood sugar. I plan to follow up with a healthcare professional for advice.

Elevated results may call for lifestyle changes or further evaluation. A healthcare professional can give guidance based on an individual’s results.
